PRUDERY IN SWEDEN. Not long ago a national magazine devoted considerable discussion to the moral freedom in Sweden and to the advanced official thinking on such matters. Therefore it came to us as somewhat of a surprise when our photographer friend Sven Scheme who has sent us some excellent photographs two of which are found on page 23 of this book, told us that he has found athletes in Stockholm quite unwilling to pose in straps or anything less than trunks because their own weightlifting magazine had worned them about those "disgusting pocket size American magazines". All too often strictly weightlifting enthusiasts have little sympathy or understanding for aesthetic beauty but are concerned only in brute strength which of course can be demonstrated equally well in any sloppy garment. In conclusion, we really dont think the prudery is any greater in Sweden than anywhere else. We do hope the people there who are repressed will see the light and seek normal expression. We hope to hear from Swedish athletes who are proud of all of their bodies and will help to educate their other friends.............

Your editor was attending a little theatreproduction of Tobacco Road at the Morrocan Theatre in Hollywood, when he'discovered" Sammy Jackson.(This is the same theatre where Joe Leitel and Don Fuller took turns at doing "The Little Hut")

We were immediately impressed by Sammy's delightfully impudent, vivacious quality and asked him to pose.

He became interested in dramatics a little. over a year ago, had a bit part in the film "No Time for Sargeants ". A member of the American Health Club, he finds little time
